Monsoons to hit Mumbai during the first week of June

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the monsoon is said to hit Andaman and Nicobar on May 15. As per the officials of the Meteorological Department, the conditions favorable for monsoon are already building over the Andaman Sea. Also, the possibility of monsoon hitting the coasts of Kerala has increased.

In the last few days, rains have been recorded in many places like Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, eastern and western parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and North-East India with strong winds and thunder lightning. Last year, the monsoons had hit Andaman and Nicobar on 18 May.

Mumbai may get monsoon during the first week of June

Since it is predicted that the monsoons may arrive for Andaman and Nicobar on 15 may tentatively, as a result it is opined that Mumbai may receive its first shower of Monsoon by 1 June. As a matter of fact, the city did receive its share of pre-monsoon showers on 12 and 13 May.
