According to reports, On Tuesday, December 8, Mumbai experienced its warmest day in December in six years and the second hottest day for the month over the past decade.

The maximum temperature at the Santacruz weather observatory, representative of the suburbs and Mumbai, was 36.4 degree Celsius, four degrees Celsius above normal. However, KS Hosalikar, from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier taken to Twitter to inform that the maximum temperature is likely to see a decline in northern and parts of central India from December 11-12.

Moreover, as a result of the combined effect of UAC in the Arabian Sea and the Western Disturbance in North India, weather in Mumbai and surrounding areas will get gradually cloudy in the next three to four days with a chance of light rains from Thursday or Friday. In addition, areas of South Konkan and South Gujarat are also touted to get light rains.

According to weather experts, in the next few days, the maximum temperature in Mumbai is to drop gradually to 31-32 degree Celsius whereas the minimum temperature will be 20-21 degree Celsius. Moreover, pleasant weather in Mumbai can be expected from next week with minimum temperature dropping to 16-17 degree Celsius before Christmas.

Earlier on December 7, the minimum temperature across Mumbai witnessed a decline with the IMD Santacruz observatory recording a minimum temperature of 17.8 degree Celsius, which happens to be the lowest this season.

For the last couple of days, the minimum temperature has been on a decline. Monday’s minimum temperature was marginally lower than Sunday's 18 degree Celsius and Saturday's 18.4 degree Celsius. Moreover, Colaba recorded a minimum temperature of 22.4C.
