After nearly a week of below normal temperatures, Mumbai witnessed a significant surge in temperatures in contrast to Sunday, reports stated. On Monday, January 17, at the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) Santacruz observatory, the minimum temperature was 21.8 degrees Celsius, five degrees over normal. 

On the other hand, the maximum temperature recorded on the same day was 33.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees over the normal. Between January 10 and 15, the island city's minimum temperature was between 13 to 16 degrees Celsius. 

Similarly, amongst the mentioned dates, the maximum temperature was nearly 27 degrees Celsius, this resulted in cold conditions. The city recorded its lowest temperature on January 10, with the lowest minimum temperature at 13.2 degrees Celsius for the season. 

According to reports, the mean minimum temperature for January is 17.3 degrees Celsius. While January commenced on a warmer note with the minimum temperature being over the normal at around 21 degrees Celsius, since January 10, the temperature has consistently fallen, thus, remaining under normal. 

Based on accounts, per the seven-day forecast by the IMD, the minimum temperature is anticipated to be around 23 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will likely touch 34 degrees Celsius. However, the weather department has predicted a slight drop in temperature by the end of the week.
