According to reports, in the upcoming days, both the maximum and minimum temperatures in Mumbai is expected to drop by 2-3 Degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted both maximum and minimum temperatures in the city to drop.

Moreover, rain activity has been forecasted for the interior parts of Maharashtra such as Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, and Wardha. On Sunday, February 14, the minimum temperatures recorded in the city by the IMD Colaba and Santacruz observatories were 20.5C and 19.4C. Moreover, the authorities stated that rainfall activity is likely to start over parts of interior Maharashtra from February 16 for three days.

Due to the influence of a trough in lower level easterlies, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and light to moderate rainfall is expected over parts of Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha at a few places during the above period.

On the other hand, earlier on Monday, February 15, the air quality in Mumbai improved to ‘moderate’ from ‘very poor’ category. According to the System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the air quality index (AQI) of Mumbai was 159 and is predicted to remain in the moderate to the poor category for the next two days.

Moreover, the reversal of wind flow and rise in temperature is responsible for the improvement in the city's air quality. Mumbai's air quality had remained in the ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ category since the beginning of January because of low temperatures.
