Mumbai: Cloudy, Monsoon Weather Conditions Till March 26; No Respite From Humidity

It is pertinent to note that Mumbai's temperature came down to 32.2 degrees Celsius from 39.4 degrees Celsius on March 14. It was the highest maximum temperature recorded in the city this season.

Mumbaikars today, March 22, woke up to a pleasant morning with overcast and cloudy monsoon-like weather conditions.

Due to the formation of the first cyclone of the year off the Andaman coast, the city have been witnessing unusually cloudy skies, for March, since Sunday, March 20, taking the temperatures in the low range. However, it has come to light that till March 26, Mumbai is likely to witness partly cloudy skies, officials stated.

For the third consecutive day, Mumbai’s maximum day temperature dropped below normal this month with India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s both observatory recoding 32.2 degrees Celsius. However, with this, the city saw a slight spike from yesterday’s daytime temperature at 31.7 degrees Celsius.

While, the citizens managed to get a respite from the heatwaves, the city still continues to face heat and humidity.

IMD's Colaba observatory in Mumbai recorded a minimum temperature of 25.4°C, with a relative humidity of 64 per cent. Meanwhile, the Santacruz observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 24.2°C, with a relative humidity of 60 per cent.

Moreover, IMD’s seven-day forecast mentioned that the maximum temperature will be in the range of 33 and 35 degrees C, while the minimum temperature will hover around 23-24 degrees Celsius.
