In a major concern to Mumbaikars, the air quality in the city again dipped this week.

As per sources, Mumbai recorded an air quality index (AQI) of “poor” category at 259 on Tuesday, January 3. Meanwhile, the pollutant PM 2.5 and PM 10 concentrations were at 259 and 147 respectively, reports further stated.

Mumbai has been recording a continuous decline in the air quality index (AQI) for the past three days, making it difficult for the residents. This has been attributed to an increase in pollution levels. A drop in mercury level triggers pollution, experts exclaimed.

If reports are to be believed, the air quality had stooped far worse than Delhi at least twice in the last week owing to a drop in the temperature.

Moreover, the IMD has said that the minimum temperature may see a slight rise in the coming days.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 31 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively this week.
