After Mumbai witnessed the season’s coldest night of the season on Tuesday, January 23, at 14.8 degrees Celsius, the weather department has hinted at rise in temperatures after January 26.
On Wednesday night, January 24, India Meteorological Department (IMD)'s Santacruz and Colaba observatory recorded minimum temperature at 17.8 and 20 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature touched 31.2 and 30.5 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile on Wednesday morning, Mumbai’s Santacruz observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 15.2 degrees Celsius and the Colaba observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 18.5 degrees Celsius
However, it is pertinent to note that Mumbaikars on Thursday, January 25, a slight rise in the morning temperature this week as the city woke up to 19.8 degrees Celsius.
Talking about the forecast for the next few days, Rajesh Kapadia, climatologist from Vagaries of Weather, a popular private weather blog, said, “Mumbai will witness dry weather and cooler nights on January 25 and 26. Day time temperatures will hover around 31 degrees Celsius, while night time temperatures will fall to around 15 degrees Celsius. Thereafter, temperatures are likely to start rising from January 26, with days getting hotter.”
Meanwhile, Independent weather forecast expert on X (formerly Twitter) shared that unseasonal heat is all set to build from January 26-30 with widespread 35-36 degrees Celsius across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). Navi Mumbai, Kalyan and Thane interiors might see 37-38 degree Celsius possibly.

Moreover, Pune has also experienced very cool nights at around 10 degrees Celsius, which is going to continue for another day or two. Though, night temperatures will likely rise around 15 degrees Celsius by the weekend, with days also getting warmer to 32-33 degrees Celsius.
Winter is not over yet and another round of cooler weather can be expected in the next week across the state.
