According to reports, over the past 24 hours, Mumbai has seen widespread incessant rainfall with the majority of the areas in the city, breaching the 100 mm mark. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared an orange alert for the next three days. During this period, it is anticipated that Mumbai will witness widespread rainfall. Further, an increase in intensity is expected on Wednesday and Thursday, July 13 - 14, respectively. 

The IMD defines an orange alert as ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall’. Similarly, it has also predicted an enhanced rainfall activity to continue over Konkan and its adjoining ghats of Madhya Maharashtra till Thursday. A gradual reduction is slated following that, accounts cited.

Based on narratives, on Tuesday, July 12, the minimum temperature recorded in Santacruz was 23.9 degrees Celsius, while the maximum was 29.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity stood at 92 per cent. On the other hand, Colaba saw a minimum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 29.2 degrees Celsius accompanied by the relative humidity of 93 per cent.

Similarly, in accordance with data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), on Tuesday, the city recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 20 which is suggested to be good.
