According to reports, three people succumbed to rain-concerned mishaps in Maharashtra in the past 24 hours, with 95 people being evacuated from certain flooded areas, a disaster management report mentioned on Tuesday, July 12.

Based on accounts, the report brought to light that 13 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in addition to three State Disaster Response Force were stationed in vulnerable districts of Maharashtra.

Narratives suggest that two were killed in the aftermath of a structure collapse in a suburb in Mumbai, while one drowned in Gadchiroli. The report also brought to light that incessant rainfall impacted 10 villages in Gadchiroli, Nandurbar and Mumbai suburban regions.

Further, the report shares that the Parshuram Ghat in Ratnagiri's Chiplun is closed for vehicular movement. Last week after a landslide in the Parshuram Ghat section, traffic on the Mumbai-Goa national highway was diverted.

On the other hand, an official statement released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), intense rainfall activity over Konkan and adjoining ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra is expected to continue till 14 July with gradual reduction thereafter. Parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha are also very likely to receive widespread rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.

Similarly, the monsoon is expected to peak in Mumbai in the next three days. Further, IMD predicts that Mumbai will witness moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places with occasional gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph in the next 48 hours.
