According to reports, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the possibility of a monsoon peak across the city within the next three days. Likewise, a red alert has been issued in other districts in Maharashtra such as PalgharRaigadRatnagiriNashikPuneKolhapur, and Gadchiroli

On Monday, July 11, Mumbai and Thane witnessed some intense rainfall spells. The IMD anticipates that Mumbai will witness moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated places with occasional gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph in the next 48 hours, accounts mentioned. 

Over the past few days, good spells of rain have been seen in the state, with an orange alert from Mumbai also being declared. Narratives claim that Mumbai is close to attaining its July rainfall target of 855 mm.

Similarly, on Monday, the minimum temperature registered in Santacruz was 25.8 degrees Celsius while the maximum was 29.3 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the relative humidity was 87 per cent. On the other hand, Colaba saw a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius at a relative humidity of 86 per cent.

Further, in accordance with the data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), Mumbai on Monday registered an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 24 which is considered as good. 

Amid the intense spells of rains witnessed, the water stock levels in the seven lakes have increased to 40 per cent from 11 per cent. Based on accounts, the water stock in the seven water-supplying lakes has risen to 5.8 lakh million litres. In light of this, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has withdrawn its 10 per cent water cut for Mumbai. Nonetheless, it has urged Mumbaikars to use water judiciously. 

The majority of the water is supplied from Bhatsa, followed by upper Vaitarna, middle Vaitarna, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Tulsi and Vihar at 48 per cent, 16 per cent, 12 per cent, 11 per cent, 10 per cent, and 1- per cent respectively.
