Maharashtra is currently facing extreme weather conditions like bitterly cold mornings and nights due to cold winds from the north and scorching sun during the day. In many parts of the state, the difference between day and night temperature is more than 29 degrees Celsius. This difference is most visible in Jalgaon and the significant fluctuation in temperature is also disturbing the citizens in the cities of Nashik, Pune, Mumbai.

Although the minimum temperature has started increasing gradually in many districts of the state, the cold has not taken its toll yet. In most parts the minimum temperature is between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius and everywhere the maximum temperature is more than 30 degrees Celsius. Therefore, we have to face extreme temperature conditions such as thick fog, hail and hot summer in the afternoon. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Jalgaon on Thursday.
