The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in many districts of Maharashtra. Yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai and Thane on Wednesday, July 26, while Orange alert has been issued for Thane, Raigad and Ratnagiri. The Meteorological Department has issued this alert for three days.
The distress has been particularly evident in the last few weeks due to intense monsoon activity over coastal Maharashtra. Due to these incessant rains, the Maharashtra capital recorded 777.8 mm of rain, which is 29% more, while the suburbs received 1347.7 mm of rain, which is 95% more.
Coming to the rest of Coastal Maharashtra, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts will also receive intense rains this week. Accordingly, Orange Alert has been issued in these districts between Tuesday and Friday.
