The state of Maharashtra is celebrating Ganeshotsav 2020 in a simple manner, following the directives given by the government. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, officials had asked the associations to either cancel the celebrations or keep them low-key to ensure safety amidst the pandemic. On the other hand, the state had issued a notice that the size of the idols this year cannot exceed four feet. Respecting these guidelines, many popular groups and mandals cancelled the public visit and offered online LIVE darshan to the devotees.

Every year, lakhs of devotees visit Bappa at different mandals and temples across Maharashtra, however, there is a sense of disappointment this year.

One of the most visited temples throughout the year is Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Mandir, located in Prabhadevi. Observing the inconvenience this year, the trust has arranged for a special service which will help devotees seek blessings of Siddhivinayak Ganapati, at home.

In a recent development, the temple trust created a mobile app of the 'Siddhivinayak Temple' and this was launched by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, on Friday, August 28, 2020. The app called 'Siddhivinayak Temple', can be downloaded on Android and iOS devices, and devotees will be able to book darshan time online and priests will bless the devotees directly from the temple.

Office of Uddhav Thackeray took to Twitter to share the information.

Besides this, devotees can seek online darshan and also stay updated information about various festivals organised at the temple.

Present at the occasion today were Siddhivinayak Ganpati Trust President Adesh Bandekar, Treasurer Sumant Ghaisas, Trustee Bharat Parikh, Mahesh Mudaliar, Anand Rao, Gopal Dalvi, Sanjay Sawant, Visakha Raut, Ang Pankaj Gore, Subodh Acharya, Vaibhavi Chavan, and Executive Officer of the Trust Priyanka Chhapwale.
