Inspired from 'Swachh Bharat Campaign', Seawoods Central Mall in Navi Mumbai has installed a plastic ganpati.

Plastic is one of the most harmful components for nature and there have been several awareness programmes across the city with an aim to reduce or recycle plastic. People have opted for eco-friendly Ganpati idols in their homes and their mandals which is expected to reduced water pollution considerably. In order to promote the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', artist Abasaheb Shewale from Navi Mumbai has installed a 20 feet plastic bottle Ganpati in Navi Mumbai's Sea Woods Central Mall.

Shewale had started a drive 9 months before Ganesh Chaturthi where he collected waste plastic bottles from people. With the help of his team, he has installed this 20 feet Ganesh idol. 


The Ganpati idol is going to be mentioned in 'Unique Records' and 'India Book of Records'. After the end of the festivities, the plastic will be recycled to be made as grease. With this idol, the makers aim to raise awareness about the waste management system and how we should follow the mantra of reduce-reuse-recycle.
