Lalbaugcha Raja is undeniably the most-visited and famous Ganpati idol in Mumbai. Millions of devotees from the city and across the country visit the pandal during Ganesh Chaturthi. The mandal is famous for getting offerings from devotees in gold and silver, however, recently they received the most expensive offering which was a gold dining set worth a whopping ₹50 lakhs. Interestingly, the set which contains a gold plate, two bowls, two spoons and a tumbler weighs 1.2kgs collectively and the offering was made anonymously.

This isn't the first time that the mandal is receiving such an offering as last year, they had received a gold Ganpati idol, with a diamond-encrusted on its crown, weighing around 1.2 kg and its value was estimated to be around ₹42 lakh. However, according to the pandal, the ₹50 lakhs gold dining set is the most expensive gifts they have received in its 86 years of existence.  

Notably, Lalbaugcha Raja has selected the theme of 'Chandrayaan 2' for this year and it will be displaying the first images from the orbiter live on its mandal on Saturday, September 7.
