Kandivali - The Shiv Nageshwar Mitra Mandal will be celebrating the Maghi Ganpati festival by welcoming the Bappa's idol at Hanuman Nagar Ganga Bawdi.
The deity will be consecrated on 31 January and immersed on 11 February.
“For the last five years, we have been celebrating the Maghi Ganpati festival. We so feel that this festival should come twice in a year. If this happens, then we will be able to devote ourselves to Bappa,” said Rupesh Dour, president, Shiv Nageshwari Mitra Mandal.
The Maghi Ganesh Jayanti falls on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha of the Magh month as per the Hindu calendar. It is also known as Til kund Chaturthi or Winter Vinayaka Chaturthi. The Ganesh Jayanti festival is observed as the birthday of Lord Ganesh in many parts of Maharashtra. Special prayers are held at all Ganesha temples.
