The Asian Film Foundation has organised the Third Eye Asian Film Festival from January 12 to 18 this year like every year. This year is the 20th year of this festival and the films selected in this festival will be screened at Citylight Cinema in Mahim area of Mumbai and Thakur College in Kandivali.


The Asian section of the Third Eye Asian Film Festival will include 12 films from Indonesia, Egypt, Nepal, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. So, seven films from Iran will be shown. Along with Asian films, competitions for Indian films and Marathi films will be the highlight of the festival this year.

Indian Films section includes 12 films in Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Assamese languages. These include 'Aatmapamphlet', 'Ya Hajjala Naama Nai', 'Family', 'Deep Freeze', 'Bijaya Porey', 'House of Cards', 'Episode 13', 'Seyuz Sanadhan', 'Aaroh Ek Pritibh', 'Mini ', 'Whispers of Fire and Water', 'Gorai Pakhri' include 12 films. At the same time, nine films namely 'Maharashtra Shaheer', 'Territory', 'Sthal', 'Raghuveer', 'Sa La Te Sa La Na Te', 'Jitrab', 'Girki', 'Gaab', 'Madar' were screened in the Marathi film section of the festival has been included.


On the occasion of the birth centenary of the well-known Bengali director Mrinal Sen, his films will also be screened at the festival. So, a special award for film writing will be presented this year in memory of veteran film critic Sudhir Nandgaonkar. Along with film screening, acting workshops have been organised during this festival.
