Right after Vada Pav, one food item which Mumbaikars savour is Misal Pav. It is a very popular delicacy in Mumbai and stands up to its spicy flavour. It is made with matki or moth bean usal which is accompanied by boiled & diced potatoes, spiced with turmeric, chilies, ginger and mustard. Chivda or farsan is then added with a garnish of onions, tomatoes, coriander and a lemon wedge. And finally, it is served with pav.


And who wouldn't want to eat this tasty and spicy misal in winters? So there's a dedicated Misal festival coming up in December and you will get to enjoy the delicious 'Misalotsav' (Misal festival) at Vile Parle’s Lokmanya Seva Sangh’s Swantryaveer Savarkar open ground on December 9 & 10.

 

Misal in Mumbai is not the same if compared to Kolhapur, Nashik and Satara. Every city makes it in a different style and manner.
