The Little Easy, Bandra’s popular speakeasy-inspired bar and bistro, has made its mark in the city, serving some delicious food and vibrant cocktails with a twist.

After opening its doors over a year ago, the inventive bar offers a uniquely crafted cocktail experience, a favourite among its patrons. The newest addition to The Little Easy’s expansive menu is a range of coffee infused cocktails, to give you a much-needed caffeine-cocktail fix, combined into something magical! Collaborating with popular coffee chain ‘Coffee By Di Bella’, The Little Easy is making sure it mixes nothing but the finest coffee beans and blends, with new out-of-the-ordinary cocktails.

The novel idea of coffee-infused cocktails came about when The Little Easy’s Mixologist Sarfaraz Khan, had a brainwave of mixing his two absolute favourites – liquor and coffee.

Khan, with a degree in Hotel and Tourism Management, and over seven years of experience in the global Food and Beverage Industry, is known for his imaginative creations and expertise with flavours. His personal favourite amongst the Coffee Cocktails is the marshmallow-cinnamon mix called The Mellogang.

Sarfaraz believes that bitters are an integral element of every cocktail. Precisely why The Little Easy curates its own range bitters with a rich blend of distilled liquor, strong spices, and herbs that cure. The new menu brings with it in-house Cherry bitters and imported Angostura bitters, which when mixed with coffee work in perfect harmony, certain to leave you on a ‘happy high’ note!

Speaking to us about the new menu, Vishesh Shah, Director, The Little Easy says,

Life is always better when you combine your favourite things. What could be better than coffee and liquor? A coffee cocktail perhaps! Some people like their coffee just how they like their spirits - ice cold. We have curated some delicious cocktails with a coffee twist using coffee beans by Coffee By Di Bella. Everyone has loyalties to their favourite brands, but there's a good chance your favourite products are the result of two separate brands working together to create new co-branded products. We are continuously thriving to create collaborations and we support a strong exchange of ideas, and coffee and cocktails both sprout the world's strongest conversations!

REVIEW

We went over to TLE for a little preview of the fusion menu and as soon as I went through the menu, I was zapped! Coffee is a personal favourite hot beverage and mixing it up with some fine alcohol can't go wrong, can it?

COFFEE COCKTAILS

Sarfaraz, the mixologist, invited us to the bar, and had a very warm conversation about cocktails. Asking us about our preferences, he picked up his glasses and started twisting and turning with the material at his disposal and did what he does best - Make us fine coffee cocktails! He made us the 'But first, Jager' which is a jager-powered vodka and coffee cocktail. The drink was served in a well-frosted martini glass and garnished with coffee beans. With a strong coffee flavour and the right punch of jager-vodka fusion, this cocktail was a hit of energy after a long day at work.

But first, Jäger
The second cocktail served was slightly on the sweeter side, and had the most awesome branding of The Little Easy on a piece of tangerine. We had the 'Ginvincible', which was a gin-based cocktail as the name suggests and the invincible angle comes from a hot, shot of coffee which goes into the drink. Served in a old fashion whiskey glass, the cocktail is strained with martini rosso and Campari.

The Ginvincible

They're offering a plethora of delightful drinks like The Witches Winter Brew with Jerry Thomas bitters, and The Cherry Blast, a perfect amalgamation of gin, tequila, coffee, raspberry puree.

Churning out 100+ cocktails a day, The Little Easy was felicitated for the Best Cocktail Bar at the Mid-Day Hospitality Icons 2018 Awards and more recently has been nominated for the prestigious Times Food And Nightlife Awards in the ‘Best Cocktail Bar in the Suburbs’ category.

FOOD

To nibble on something along with the peppy cocktails, we called for TLE's famous Sri Lankan Sausage Party, which are southern fried sausages tossed with mixed herbs, butter, garlic and parmesan cheese. These are one of TLE's classics and for people who love gorging on sausages, this particular preparation is for you.

Another small plate that we called for was the Stuffed Mushrooms. Filled with cream cheese, parmesan, mixed herbs and coated with panko crumb, the mushrooms are served with freshly made BBQ dip. The mushrooms were perfectly complementing the cocktails and the burst of flavours was a treat for our palates!

DESSERT

They have a special edition dessert which is a dark chocolate infused with negroni. The chocolate, which has a very neat 'The Little Easy' branding, has 70% cocoa dark chocolate, equal parts composition of gin, vermouth, campari and a shot of espresso from Coffee By Di Bella. You're supposed to have the whole square-shaped chocolate at one go, and it will melt in your mouth, unleashing sweet, bitter flavours of dark chocolate and liquor. This one after any meal will leave a big-fat smile on your face.

So We're Saying...

We genuinely enjoyed this twist in the menu and this goes live for all you Mumbaikars in the last week of February 2019 and if you are someone who enjoys coffee and cocktails, this fusion collaboration between Coffee By Di Bella and The Little Easy is definitely something you should try.
