Adding a name to that sentiment is Atria Mall’s nouveau restaurant that promises an explosion of taste, flavour, aroma and colour. Talli Turmeric, as it is called, the restaurant dares to do something different, by offering a variety of menu centred around Turmeric. The food presented here is presented as a tribute to regional cuisine with an ideology to share a piece of India with everything served and coupled with the modernity of a contemporary bar setting in South Mumbai.

Celebrated for centuries, this strongly flavoured wonder spice is renowned for its vibrant colour and healing properties in every home. More than any other ingredient, this is an instant representation of the Indian kitchen and its rich cuisine and brings to mind a plethora of food memories, drawn from kitchens everywhere in the country - expressing the philosophy of our cuisine.


Moreover, the founders are keen to make your experience interesting by encouraging one join the chef and watch the preparation live, as they present a specially curated menu using flavourful ingredients, fresh produce, artfully paired spices representing a vast, diverse gastronomic legacy. The menu captures the real essence of the country, ranging from the popular Indian delicacies like the juicy charcoal-grilled tandoori kababs, curries of royal kitchens, classic dishes from secret family recipes, fresh bread from the tandoor and authentic, slow-cooked biryanis. What makes it special is that all of it is served as great value small-plates, in a contemporary urban setting and serving a selection of eclectic cocktails, wines and spirits.

The ‘Talli’ element in the menu and the experience is the surprise cocktail factor curated by co-founder Mansij Vaidya, which allows one to look for something, unique, unusual and unpredictable – eventually bringing a smile instantly, with a warning that there’s an adventure ahead. The menu served at the 50-feet long showstopper bar boasts of a variety, from the timeless classics to Talli Turmeric - all handcrafted with a tinge of turmeric, with a desire to introduce Indian flavors at their ethical best.

Talking about the same, Tapan Vaidya, Founder of Talli Turmeric, said, “Talli Turmeric is a celebration of turmeric in all its aspects – the colour, the taste, the healing properties and the importance it has in Indian cuisine. Besides this, we are all about authentic, fresh, wholesome Indian food. This restaurant will represent the real taste of India with a touch of refinement. Our chefs from different parts of India will add authenticity, skill and great flavours to all our food preparation. We even have a range of exciting cocktails! The kitchen at this one-of-a-kind restaurant helmed by Chef duo Fareed Qureshi and Chef Arasa Kumar. Qureshi hails from the well-known Imtiaz Qureshi family which is renowned for its culinary skills, especially Dum-Pukht, and Arasa Kumar has been a part of the Taj Group of Hotels in Chennai and Hyderabad. The duo understands India and the cuisines to the best, as Qureshi revisits his repertoire of classic North Indian dishes ranging from Awadh, Kashmiri, Punjabi and much more to add skill and authenticity to the menu, Kumar introduces an entire exciting spectrum of South Indian cuisines, culinary trends and practices across the southern states, since he has lived in almost everyone in his lifetime!

With an aim to bring the traditional dishes prepared by ancient methods to a contemporary setting, the team at Talli Turmeric believes that the new venture is not just a restaurant, but a food theatre at its honest best.
