JMJ Sports Club has won the championship of the Second Division of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League, performing the best throughout the season. JMJ Sports Club defeated Mother Teresa Foundation (1-0) in the final of the Second division at St. Xavier Maidan, Parel. 

Striker Alvin Fernandez was the key player in the JMJ Sports Club victory as he scored the only goal for his team. JMJ Sports Club, who won the Third Division title last year, has won the championship for a second consecutive year.


Alvin's goal in the 30th minute

In their final encounter, both teams arrived on the pitch with an aggressive approach and remained so until the end of the match. JMJ Sports Club took the lead in the 30th minute as Alvin Fernandez scored the only goal of the match. Danny Fernandez initiated a powerful pass, and Alvin scored the goal. After that, JMJ Sports won the championship by winning the title.


Promoted to First Division

Mother Teresa Foundation, who defeated JMJ Sports Club (2-1) in the first leg of the tournament, could not raise the game in this match. In the MDFA award ceremony to be held on April 30, the winners and runners-up teams will be honoured.

However, both the teams, JMJ Sports and Mother Teresa Foundation have been promoted to the First Division for the next season by the MDFA.
