On Monday, the state of Maharashtra registered 2,583 new covid-19 positive patients which are believed to be the least since this year, February 9, stated a report by the PTI. 28 deaths were reported whilst 3,836 patients recovered from the virus, mentioned an official from the state health department, elucidated the report.

The total number of cases to date in the state is 65,24,498 with the total deaths to date being 1,38,546. Total recoveries till date is at 63,40,723 and the active cases being 41,672, mentioned an official.
On Monday, the daily cases and deaths saw a slight dip in the contrast to the previous day when the state registered 3,413 cases and 49 deaths. Nearly, seven months later, Maharashtra registered the lowest tally of daily cases. On February 9 it had registered 2,515 cases.
According to the report, the official added that the state’s case recovery rate is at 97.18% with the death rate being 2.12%.
With the lowest tests in recent time at 1,35,925, the tally of the samples tested to date in the state rose to 5,71,64,401, elaborated the official. An aggregate of 2,75,736 patients are in home quarantine in the state, whilst 1,677 are in institutional quarantine, highlighted the official.
Additionally, on 20 September 2021, 419 people tested positive in Mumbai.
