The vaccination pace had dropped during the Diwali festival; however, on Monday, November 8, vaccination picked up with nearly 5 lakh doses administered across Maharashtra, including one lakh in Mumbai. 

It is expected that today, November 9, Maharashtra is likely to complete 10 crores COVID-19 vaccination. The state has registered a total of 4,89,479 doses on Monday, according to the CoWin app and in Mumbai, a total of 1,07,155 doses were administered. Of these one lakh doses, 85,933 were the second dose and 21,222 first. 

The city has administered at least one dose of the vaccine to 99% of its adult population. Till Monday, according to the CoWin app, 62% of the population in Mumbai are fully vaccinated.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) health officer Dr Mangala Gomare said that they are focusing on second dose vaccination. They are also planning to put up a campus in areas if a lot of people are waiting for their second dose and there are issues of accessibility. 

The civic administration has said that there can be three categories of people whose names are missing from the list of second dose recipients. The first category will be of people who got inoculated outside Mumbai. The second will be of those who got inoculated with both the doses but the name didn't appear in the list due to glitch, while the third category of those who are yet to get vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra registered less than 1,000 coronavirus cases for the fourth consecutive day on Monday, November 8.
