The most number of cases in Maharashtra have emerged from Mumbai as the tally stands at 3,451 as of April 22, 5:30 pm. The situation in Mumbai is dire as, by April 20, 2020, Mumbai had a total of 813 containment zones or red zones. Seven of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) wards have recorded more than 200 COVD-19 patients each and eight wards have recorded more than 100 patients each so far.
In the city, the G-South ward is the worst-affected area with 487 coronavirus cases being recorded so far whereas R-North is the ward with least number of cases, i.e. 20 cases.
