On Thursday, 70 new COVID-19 cases were found in Panvel municipal area while 95 patients have been recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Among the new patients found in Panvel municipal area are two from Panvel, one from New Panvel, seven from Khanda Colony, 13 from Kalamboli, 12 from Kamothe, 32 from Kharghar and three from Taloja.

Coming over to the people who made a complete recovery from coronavirus included five from Panvel, 18 from New Panvel, nine from Kalamboli, 42 from Kamothe, 20 from Kharghar and one from Taloja.

Out of total 24,268 coronavirus patients registered in Panvel municipal area till date, 23,250 patients have recovered and returned home while 563 people have died. At present, there are 455 active patients of COVID-19 in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Maharashtra's COVID-19 tally on Thursday rose to 17,36,329 after it recorded 4,496 fresh cases. The state also reported 122 more deaths due to the infection, taking the fatality count to 45,682. Also, 7,809 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the tally of recovered people to 16,05,064. The number of active cases currently has dropped to 84,627. The COVID-19 deaths in Maharashtra remained on the higher side, but recoveries soared and crossed 16 lakh till date even as the number of 'active cases' declined.
