Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray recently took to Twitter to announce that one-rupee clinic team did a fever screening at 1,360 rooms at the BDD chawls in Worli yesterday. This further helped identify 52 suspected cases to undertake quarantine measures.

Thackeray had initiated the ‘1 Rupee Clinic’ to be started across the state to provide health check-up for Rs 1, under which 200 different types of diseases would be screened. This would help the people living below the poverty section of the society to avail tests to further treat the contagious disease.

Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray in a massive development on Thursday was elected along with 9 candidates unopposed to the Maharashtra Legislative Council. He had earlier requested to the defence, railways, ports and all other central undertakings in the state to give their premises as well as ICU beds to treat the COVID-19 patients. The CM had further urged to Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Railways, ports and other central organisations stationed in Maharashtra, to take care of the fresh influx expected after the lockdown is lifted and international flights resume operations.

The CM speaking about the extended lockdown in Maharashtra stated that the lockdown has been eased in several rural areas, jump-starting economic activities. He reaffirmed that the lockdown has been successful in our country rather than other countries, adding that this was a war of patience. Furthermore, he alerted that one must be alert for the next 5-6 months, ready for the second wave of the virus.

CM Uddhav Thackeray had earlier announced that the state government will partially resume economic activities from April 20 in Green and Orange zones. However, the government had to pause the partial relaxation in Pune and Mumbai as COVID cases soared. Currently, Maharashtra has reported 27,554 cases of coronavirus with 16,786 cases in Mumbai and 2,977 cases in Pune.
