In a second instance in September, Mumbai has registered over 500 cases of coronavirus.

Within the jurisdiction of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 514 people tested positive for covid-19, on Wednesday. The number above 500, was last seen on 8 September, wherein the figure stood at 530 positive covid patients.

For the last four days, the city was logging less than 400 cases, but the tide has turned now. With this latest update in numbers, the aggregate caseload of the city is at 7,36,284.

In addition to this, four patients, all of whom suffered from comorbidities and were over the age of 60, lost their lives to the virus. The death toll, due to this is now 16,037.

A sense of respite can however be garnered since the new recoveries yet again outweighed new cases. 604 people were proclaimed free of coronavirus on Wednesday.

Total recoveries in the island city have risen to 7,13,174, taking the recovery rate to 97%.

4,602 active cases are now present in the city of Mumbai.

Data further elucidates that from September 8 to September 14, the overall growth rate is 0.06%, with the doubling rate at 1,277 days.

The civic authority within its jurisdiction has an aggregate of 37 sealed buildings. Similarly, active containment zones are zero, highlighted accounts.
