In a shocking revelation, type 2 virus was discovered in polio vaccinations and shockingly, the company making the vaccinations was exporting the vaccination in Maharashtra. Due to which, people were scared and were worried about the safety of their children. However, Health Minister Dr. Deepak Sawant assured the citizens that the sale of the vaccinations has been shut down in Maharashtra since September 11 and has advised the citizens to not panic.
For several years, the government has been trying to fight polio in order to fulfill their dream of a ‘Polio-Free India’ and under which, every child under the age of five is provided with the vaccination for Polio orally as well as through an injection. As the human body does not have sufficient immunity at the age to fight the virus, the injection provides the additional strength to the body to fight the polio virus.
Ghaziabad’s Biomed Company is one of the companies entitled with the responsibility to make vaccinations for Polio. However, recently type 2 virus was discovered in the vaccination made by the company. Vaccination is provided by a Biomed company in Uttar Pradesh under the polio vaccination campaign and accordingly, several children who were provided with the vaccination were found with the type 2 virus.
After which, the company’s medical investigation was conducted and after the investigation, it was revealed that the company’s vaccination contained the type-2 virus and accordingly, an offense was registered against the company and the director was also arrested.
After the news of the contamination of virus reached Maharashtra, the sale of the vaccination was immediately shut down and a high alert was declared in Maharashtra along with Uttar Pradesh. The health minister has asked the people to be calm but has also stated the possibility of a resurgence of polio after the virus has been found.
