Stocks of coronavirus vaccines have been falling across Maharashtra and Mumbai with multiple vaccination sites remaining closed.
Meanwhile, a few other vaccination centres in the city are on the brink of shutting down due to the same reason. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is now making it easier for citizens to know which vaccination sites are active and operational.

Early Friday, the civic body uploaded a list of State-run, private, and MCGM vaccination centres across the city on Twitter, highlighting the centres that are currently active or operational. “Here is the list of vaccination centres that will be fully/partly functional or non-functional owing to limited supply of vaccine,” the civic body said on Twitter along with images containing the said list.

The BMC Twitter handle also took the time to respond to some user questions as well. In response to one user, the civic body said, “Due to the shortage of vaccines, they are provided to municipal centres first, as they vaccinate for free , benefiting maximum people. Thus, quite a few private centres have been out of vaccines.”

There has been some uncertainty with regard to vaccinations since Maharashtra is currently in an extensive lockdown-type situation, though authorities are hesitant to call it a lockdown citing the economic impact.
All citizens over the age of 45 are currently eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine across the country. Starting May 1, vaccinations will be open for all adults over the age of 18 with the aim to cover a large portion of the population. States are hoping to procure enough stocks of the vaccines to ensure the mass vaccination program goes through smoothly without any hiccups.
