More than 350 people in Kandivali's Hiranandani Heritage Club housing complex were cheated by a group of men who administered fake vaccinations to the residents in the premises. However, as soon as the information was received, officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) took action against the group. Meanwhile, the health department has also decided to vaccinate the residents who were given fake vaccines

This drive has been planned on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Amenity Market Municipal Vaccination Center located in Kandivali's Mahavir Nagar. Preparations are underway to ensure these citizens are properly vaccinated.

Earlier, the Hiranandani Heritage Club had privately organized the vaccination drive on May 30, 2021, however, a few residents realised that the same was not conducted in an unauthorized manner and a group of men administered fake vaccines. A case has been registered in this regard and the police  also started an investigation. Officials have now revealed that a total of nine fake and unauthorized vaccination programs were carried out in the same manner and where fake and unauthorized vaccinations were given to many citizens in Mumbai. It has also been pointed out that the beneficiaries were also given fake vaccination certificates and some of them were even registered on the CoWin portal.

At the end of the verification and police investigation, the health department will administer the second dose to those who have received the first dose of vaccine in a genuine manner. This will be applicable if the citizen has received Covaxin where the second dose will be given after a gap of 28 days or Covishield where it will be given after 84 days.
