Chemotherapy is beneficial for cancer patients. However, it has been concluded from the research conducted by the doctors of Cama Hospital that if the patient is given chemotherapy before the surgery, it is possible to remove the entire cancer during the surgery. The doctors of Cama Hospital said that by treating the cancer patients with this method, the cancer in them was completely cured. Chemotherapy is considered as an important treatment method for cancer patients. A study by doctors at Cama Hospital shows that chemotherapy is more beneficial than surgery for uterine cancer.

Cervical cancer is considered dangerous. The symptoms of this cancer do not appear quickly, and in many places the necessary systems for its detection are not available. Therefore, the infection of this cancer is noticed late. Dr. Sakina U, Dr. Sohail Sheikh and Dr. Tushar Palve studied uterine ovarian cancer patients from 2018 to 2022. Ovarian cancer patients attending Cama Hospital were studied. Eighty-five percent of patients studied by doctors were found to have advanced stage ovarian cancer. It included 53 percent women in rural areas and 47 percent women in urban areas. The mean age of all these female patients was 56 years. About 10 percent of those patients had a family history of cancer.

Common complaints of women who came to the hospital were abdominal pain, vomiting, weight loss, loss of appetite and bleeding. But after the cancer test of these women, most of the women were found to have stage 3 and 4 uterine cancer.

While 18 female patients were given chemotherapy after surgery. In patients who received preoperative chemotherapy (NACT-IDS), 100 percent blood loss resulted in complete removal of the cancer during surgery. But only 88 percent of patients who underwent surgery first (PDS-ACT) had the entire cancer removed during surgery. Complications were compounded by an average loss of blood in the patient's body during surgery. Therefore, by giving chemotherapy before surgery for ovarian cancer, it is possible to remove the entire cancer, and that treatment method is suitable for women, said Tushar Palve.
