Doubling rate of coronavirus cases in Kalyan-Dombivli reaches 206 days

Reports released in the previous months showed that the number of corona patients in Kalyan-Dombivali were increasing until October 2020. The total number of patients in the municipal area, as of November 2, 2020, has reached 54,157.

Coronavirus cases in the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) areas are now declining steadily. As per the report released by the officials, only 93 new cases were identified on Monday, November 2, 2020. Further, the doubling rate of the COVID-19 cases has also significantly improved and has reached 206 days, with the recovery rate reaching 95 per cent. Besides this, the case fatality rate has come down to two per cent.

Reports released in the previous months showed that the number of corona patients in Kalyan-Dombivali were increasing until October 2020. However, cases have been declining for the last 15 days, and as per recent data, the total number of patients in the municipal area has reached 54,157

Out of these, more than 48,000 patients have been cured and given a discharge. Currently, the locality has around 1,652 active cases and patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals and care centres. Over the last two months, officials from KDMC recorded between 300 to 500 patients on a daily basis, which since the last 20 days has come down to 100 to 150 cases.

The municipal corporation has also increased coronavirus (COVID-19) tests and officials have been asked to conduct a door-to-door survey and offer immediate treatment to the patients. In case, symptoms of fever have been reported, patients are being asked t visit the municipal health centre for antigen testing, and opt for immediate treatment if the test result is positive.

Data released by the state health department shows that as of November 2, 2020, a total of 15,24,304 COVID-19 patients have been discharged after a full recovery, taking the recovery rate in the state to 90.31 per cent. Furthermore, the case fatality rate in the state has reached 2.61 per cent.

More than 90.65-lakh laboratory samples have been tested out of which 16,87,784 have been tested positive, i.e. 18.62 per cent of the total samples. At present, more than 25.33 lakh people are under home quarantine and 12,195 people are under institutional quarantine.
