Union finance minister Arun Jaitley announced two new schemes namely 'Ayushman Bharat' and 'Navin Health Centre'. Jaitley claimed that the latter scheme will benefit 50 crore residents. Along with this, ₹600 crore will be used to eradicate tuberculosis and ₹500/month will be given to TB patients. Not only this, but every family will get ₹5 lakh on an annual basis for medical expenses.


24 New Medical Colleges

Jaitley announced that 24 new medical colleges will come up across India. He also announced that hospitals will come up in every Lok Sabha constituency. Along with this, world's largest healthcare scheme was announced for 10 crore poor families and claimed that it will benefit 50 crore people.

Health Insurance for 40 per cent people

Every family, on an annual basis, will get ₹5 lakh for medical expenses and 40 per cent people will get a cover of health insurance. Finance minister Arun Jaitley clarified that 5.22 crore families took advantage of the Prime Minister's Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme.
