Epidemic diseases like dengue, malaria are increasing in Navi Mumbai. There has been an increase in suspected dengue patients in the city compared to last year.


As soon as the rainy season starts, the citizens get infected with epidemic diseases. New construction is going on in the city. As the water used for construction is stored for several days, the larvae of mosquitoes that are the origin of these epidemic diseases are also formed there. Also mosquitoes are generated in the clean water of storage.

Indoor Mosquito Breeding Spots campaign has been implemented and under this campaign 2,17,393 houses were visited and 4,04,926 mosquito breeding spots were checked in September. Among them, 1,179 locations were found contaminated and destroyed. In this, Anopheles mosquito was found in 151 places, Aedes in 963 places and Culex in 61 places and 1179 places. This year, the number of dengue-like patients has doubled.


From January 2022 to the end of September 2022, 69 cases of malaria have been detected, while up to September 2023, 77 cases of malaria have been detected. Last year there were 10 dengue infected patients, this year so far 10 patients have been recorded in the municipality. Last year, till September 2022, 467 suspected dengue cases were found, but this year, there has been an increase in dengue-like cases and till September 2023, 900 cases have been found.
