In the past few years, Mumbaikars have faced a gradual rise in the number of diabetic patients. In order to deal with Diabetes, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had organised a survey which revealed an alarming rise in the number of people ailing from the disease.
The disease has led to the citizens suffering from hypertension. In the camp that was conducted in February, it was found out that 25 per cent of the people were suffering from diabetes.
The civic body had set up six camps where 600 people were examined, out of which, 155 were found ill from Diabetes. Along with this, the survey also revealed that 50 per cent of the people were suffering from hypertension.
Doctors stated that the major reason behind the increase in the number of cases isn't food consumption habits but the lack of physical activity.
