A 21-year-old girl died of dengue at Mohane near Kalyan. Prachi Bhaskar Tare who was an engineer by profession was suffering from fever for four to five days. The doctors who treated her said that she died due to loss of blood component in her body and due to dengue.


The medical health department of the municipality took cognizance of the death. Door-to-door medical tests of citizens have been started in the area where Prachi lived. Disinfectant smoke is being sprayed in this area. Although the doctors who treated her said that she passed away due to dengue, the municipality has not yet declared that she died of the said cause. Meanwhile, the municipality has sought information about the medical treatment from the hospital where she was undergoing treatment.

Along with a headache, Prachi had a fever for five days. Her parents immediately admitted her to a nearby private hospital. While undergoing treatment, Prachi's health deteriorated. When she was immediately tested, it revealed that her white blood cell count was abnormally low and she was suffering from dengue.
