Coronavirus tally in Maharashtra is Mira-Bhayandar area is increasing rapidly. Observing this the state government of Maharashtra has approved to new coronavirus hospitals in the locality and officials have begun the recruitment process of 819 positions for these two hospitals. It is said that both these hospitals will have a total of 376 beds.
However, the corporation does not have doctors and medical staff for these hospitals. Therefore, the MBMC has decided to recruit the required staff for the two new hospitals. As per reports, the deadline for filing applications for these recruitments is until Saturday, June 20. The corporation will appoint the medical staff on a temporary basis, initially for a total of three months or until the coronavirus cases reduce. Further, any candidates who wish to apply for these positions should be available for interviews.
The new COVID-19 hospitals will have 206 beds at the Pramod Mahajan Hospital and 170 beds at the Meenatai Hospital respectively. Further, the government has allotted a fund of ₹15 crores for the same. In addition to this, another 450-bed hospital is also expected to get approval soon from the government.
As per the report released by the MBMC, as of June 16, a total of 1,792 cases tested positive for coronavirus. A total of 4,974 swab samples were tested out of which 2,965 tested negative reports of 217 tests are awaited. Further, 88 deaths were registered so far and 995 patients had recovered. The areas have a total of 709 Active cases, out of which 66 patients were new and reported on June 16.
The city witnessed a jump of 139 cases - second-highest since March. The single highest day jump was observed on June 11 with 145 cases.
Area wise list shows that Mira Road had a total of 894 cases of Coronavirus while Bhayandar West has 443 cases and Bhayandar East has 455 cases.
