A father had moved to Bombay High Court seeking termination of pregnancy of his anaemic daughter as her health is deteriorating. The court had heard the plea and had ordered KEM Hospital to form a committee to initiate the check up and submit the report. On Friday, KEM submitted the report and on the basis of which, the Bombay High Court denied the permission to abort.

When the victim’s parents found out about her menstrual changes, they took her to Sion Hospital. Doctors informed them about their daughter's pregnancy and also told them about how her anaemic condition could cause problems while delivering the child.

The father has alleged that a businessman name "Shyamlal" raped his daughter under the pretext of marriage. The Kapurbawdi police have registered a complaint against Shyamlal and have started an investigation.

When Mumbai Live spoke to dean Dr Avinash Supe, he had informed about a report submitted to the High Court.
