Additional Municipal Commissioner Sudhakar Shinde has issued an order that the out-patient department examination must start at 8:00 am for thousands of patients who visit all the major hospitals of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) every day. The responsibility of strict compliance of this order has been entrusted to all the officials.

In an order issued by Additional Commissioner Sudhakar Shinde on December 19, it has been mentioned that henceforth, in any case, examination of patients in the outpatient department should begin at eight in the morning. In order for doctors to strictly observe this time, henceforth their attendance will be done biometrically and biometric attendance will be taken for coming and going to work. It has also been mentioned in the order that this biometric attendance will be linked to the doctor's salary. Importantly, the registration of patients has been asked to start at seven in the morning so that the patients coming to the outpatient department can get treatment on time. Dr. Sudhakar Shinde believes that this will stop the problem of patients or relatives.

A few days ago Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had asked to implement 'zero prescription' in municipal hospitals. Due to this, medicines will be available to patients in hospitals by stopping prescribing medicines from outside. This is also being implemented in major hospitals of the municipality.
