In the wake of the death of 24 patients in 24 hours at Nanded’s Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Govt Medical College & Hospital, the health department approved idle 2,862 temporary posts on war footing. The Health Department has issued 14 government decisions in this regard on Friday.


Shortage of medicines and inadequate staff are said to be the reasons behind the deaths in Nanded Hospital. The opposition has consistently accused the government of the health department's drug procurement chaos and inadequate staffing. Therefore, the Health Department approved 2,862 temporary posts on Friday. These are the posts in Parcharya schools, Plague Control Teams, Primary Health Centers of Zilla Parishads. This includes 2,173 temporary posts in Nashik Mandal.

'Feeling of mass death'

Akola: In cities like Sambhajinagar, Nagpur, the average death rate of patients is giving an impression of high death rate. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticized that some are creating a picture of collapse of the health system due to political selfishness.
