As the country tries to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, according to sources, the daily number of coronavirus cases is decreasing across the city of Mumbai. Moreover, on Monday, October 4, 2,026 COVID-19 patients have been detected in Maharashtra.

In addition, 5,389 patients recovered from the coronavirus. So far 63,86,059 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the state. As a result, the recovery rate in the state stands at 97.27 per cent.

Meanwhile, on Monday, 26 patients succumbed to the disease in the state. The state's mortality rate is 2.12 per cent. Pune district currently has the maximum number of 8,839 active patients. Jalgaon (14), Nandurbar (2), Dhule (2), Jalna (40), Parbhani (72), Hingoli (15), Nanded (08), Akola (22), Washim (06), Buldhana (23), Nagpur (99), Yavatmal (09), Wardha (8), Bhandara (2), Gondia (1), Gadchiroli (16) districts have less than 100 active patients. At present, 33,637 patients are currently undergoing treatment in the state.

According to reports, at present, 2,40,088 persons are at home, in quarantine whereas 1,355 persons are in institutional quarantine in the state. Of the 5,93,37,713 laboratory samples tested so far, 65,62,514 (11.06 per cent) have tested positive.
