Coronavirus cases in Kalyan-Dombivli to cross 30,000-mark

The new coronavirus cases on Sunday were reported from areas including Kalyan East, Dombivli East, Kalyan West and Dombivli West.

The number of coronavirus cases in the areas under Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has crossed 29,000. On Sunday, nearly 215 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from the region and the eight people died due to coronavirus in one day. 

As of August 23, the number of coronavirus cases in KDMC region has reached 29,896 while the death toll has touched 618. However, nearly 245 people were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. In total, 22,883 COVID-19 patients have recovered until now. 

The new coronavirus cases on Sunday were reported from areas including Kalyan East, Dombivli East, Kalyan West and Dombivli West. 40 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported from Kalyan East, followed by 62 from Kalyan West, 64 from Dombivli East, 40 from Dombivli West, eight from Manda Titwala and four from Mohana area. 

Of the 245 discharged COVID-19 patients, 87 were from Tata Invitational followed by 14 from VHBP Savlaram Maharaj Sports Complex, eight from Baj RR Hospital and Research Centre and six from Patidar COVID care centre, two from Shastrinagar Hospital, one from Aasara Foundation School. 

Meanwhile, the twin-city of Mira-Bhayandar reported 112 fresh coronavirus cases on Sunday. According to Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC), three people died of COVID-19 on August 23. Maharashtra has been one of the worst-hit states in India due to the coronavirus outbreak. The number of coronavirus cases in the state has reached 6,82,383 while the death toll remains 22,253.
