As of June 11 2020, the number of coronavirus patients in Mira-Bhayandar increased with 145 new cases, taking the total tally in the area to 1,338. With this, the locality the witness the highest single-day jump ever, in COVID-19 cases.
Observing this pattern, the local municipality along with the state government has decided to set up two more coronavirus treatment centres, to ensure the safety of patients and the availability of treatment. The proposal was sent by Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation to the Commissioner. of Konkan Division.
As per reports, one of the auditoriums in the city and the parking lot will be converted as COVID-19 centres and the commissioner has ordered MHADA to set up the same as requested by the local Municipal Corporation.
As per reports, one centre will be set up at Meenatai Thackeray Hall in Mira Road's Indralok area and other will be a Pramod Mahajan Hall in Bhayander East. A total of 450 beds were provided in both the treatment centres and the work began from Thursday. All expenses at these treatment centres will be borne by MHADA.
As of now, a total of 1,304 beds have been provided in the locality with 40 beds in Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Hospital and 814 beds in the treatment centre at Samrudhi in Indralok area. Patients who experience moderate to severe symptoms are being treated at these coronavirus treatment centres.
Data released by the state health department on June 11, 2020, showed the highest single-day jump in Maharashtra with 3,607 new cases. The total tally in the state has reached 97,648, with 54,085 in Mumbai, 6,998 in Thane and 4,126 cases in Navi Mumbai.
