Officials at the BMC have provided Voice Biomarkers devices to the staff members at Nesco COVID-19 centres. Meanwhile, use of RTPCR tests for the diagnosis will continue.

The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the state are increasing with every passing day. Though the city of Mumbai has seen a reduction in cases, officials at the municipal corporation are suspecting that there might be a second wave that may lead to a spike.

Ever since the viral infection spread across the nation, healthcare providers and scientists have been talking about different ways of diagnosis and treatment. While the current options are efficient, it is said that doctors would be able to treat the patients in a better way, if new and faster ways of diagnosis are identified.

As per reports, experts have identified a new way to test coronavirus infection and it is said that officials will now be performed voice test for diagnosis. The local government has made Voice Biomarker devices available at Mumbai’s NESCO COVID Center located in Goregaon, and patients will be screened based on this mechanism.

The facility was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray, Aslam Sheikh, Mumbai’s Mayor Kishori Pednekar. The pilot project was launched online in the presence of dignitaries from the municipal officials. This state-of-the-art technology will make the fight against corona stronger. Further, coronavirus suspects in the city will be diagnosed quickly and get help.

Experts also state that using artificial intelligence with help the doctors in a better way, however, use of RTPCR tests for the diagnosis will continue, said Aditya Thackeray.
