According to a latest development, four persons were injured after a portion of a balcony in a chawl collapsed in Mumbai’s eastern suburb this afternoon, March 7.
The incident took place at Nepali Chawl on Goshala road in Ramgadh Nagar, Mulund (W) in Mumbai around 2:30 pm.
Out of the total injured, three were children; they include -- two minor girls aged 2.5 years and 4 years and a 5-year-old boy.
The injured have been identified as Anushka Devi (2.5 years), Shrikant Kachare (29), Yamuna Kumari (4) and Mukesh Pariyar (5).
All of them were taken to Agrawal hospital, where they were treated and discharged, civic officials stated.
On the other hand, a day earlier, on March 6, in a separate incident, four persons were injured after a part of a ceiling collapsed in the Police Camp locality of Tardeo, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials.
The incident was reported by the civic-run Nair hospital. The injured persons were identified as Namdeo Sanap (57), Veena Sanap (50), Snehal Sanap (25) and Vedant Sanap (17). According to the BMC, all the injured persons were rushed to the hospital. They got discharged after treatment.
