On Sunday, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) announced the winners for the lottery for its 1384 flats. The lottery ensured that 1384 winners received the Mumbai Board flats on Sunday but lakhs of applicants weren't named on the lottery due to which they were disheartened. 

However, the housing board has provided such people with some really good news. MHADA announced that next month it will declare the winners for its 5000 Konkan Board flats.

Talking to Mumbai Live, MHADA Konkan Board Chief Officer Vijay Lahane said that the housing board has decided to announce the lottery for 5000 houses at Kalyan’s Khoni and Shirdhon. He added that all the flats will be provided to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) through Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Earlier, MHADA had begun constructing flats for the Konkan Board under PMAY at Thane and Raigad. Majorly, the Konkan Board is building around 32,000 flats at Thane district’s Bhandarli, Shirdhon, Gotheghar, Khoni. As the construction process has paced up, MHADA declared the lottery for the 5,000 houses.

As per the sources, MHADA is working on the pricing and other construction procedure. MHADA will be issuing the advertisement by January-end. This will be a great opportunity for people residing on the outskirts of the city and will also aid people in buying cheap homes from the housing authority.
