The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has finished building the city’s largest public toilet at Juhu Galli in Andheri (West). Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) President Bhai Jagtap inaugurated the facility on July 3.
This community toilet will have 60 seats and will include a separate section for women on the ground floor. Officials said that four toilet blocks will be reserved for differently-abled individuals.

Among the amenities at this public lavatory are Wi-Fi access, a waiting area with newspapers, and a television. Speaking on the occasion, Jagtap said that they will add 28 more seats to the existing 60 seats.
This public toilet will serve 60,000 slum residents with each family having to pay ₹60 per month for unlimited access. Previously, the civic body planned air-conditioned mobile toilet vans across Mumbai’s traffic signals. But the plans were put on hold due to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic.
