CIDCO Will Adopt Measures To Ensure Uninterrupted Water Supply in Navi Mumbai

In a bid to offer uninterrupted water supply in Navi Mumbai and its surrounding areas, the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) is taking new steps to meet the future and existing water demand in the region. 

Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, VC and MD, CIDCO said, “The water demand of Navi Mumbai will highly increase due to rise in population and various ambitious projects.”

“CIDCO is implementing various schemes to meet the present and future water demands of the region. The triad of efficient management of available water, optimal use of reservoirs and creation of new water reservoirs is finalised in this regard,” Mukherjee added.

The water demand in the city is expected to reach 1,275 megaliters per day by 2050. CIDCO is proposing the effective use of existing reservoirs along with the creation of new water bodies to fulfil the demand.
