Mumbai - There's happy tidings for all those residing in MHADA buildings in the city. A new ordinance has been passed, detailing that people will get 400 sq. feet area in redeveloped buildings. The earlier figure for such housing flats was 300 sq.feet. No MHADA building has undergone redevelopment for the last six years.
The MHADA had decreed in its 2010 scheme that only houses availed through housing stock will be redeveloped. As per the new ordinance, FSI (Floor space index) has been increased to 25-35%. Once FSI is added, the total area of the house will add up to 450 sq. feet.
