The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) which caters to affordable housing comprises nine regional boards. It regularly announces various lottery schemes. 


Announcement of Mumbai MHADA Lottery scheme
The much awaited Mumbai MHADA Lottery Scheme 2023, was announced on May 22, 2023. After a gap of five years this was the first MHADA lottery scheme that was announced across Mumbai. In 2018, the last MHADA Mumbai board lottery was carried out. In 2023 MHADA Mumbai Lottery scheme, over 4,000 flats are being offered. 


Which are the areas?
Of the 4000 units, 2,683 units come under the Pahadi-Goregaon project and the remaining 1,317 units are spread across Bandra, Borivali, Kanamwar Nagar (Vikhroli) and Magathane.



Till what date one can apply?
The application process was initially till June 26 but now the deadline has been extended to July 10, 2023.


What are the rates?
The prices of the MHADA Mumbai flats range between INR 34 lakh and INR 4 crore, keeping in mind the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Lower Income Group (LIG), Middle Income Group (MIG) and High Income Group (HIG) categories. For the EWS and LIG category, 60% of MHADA lottery 2023 Mumbai units will be reserved and 40% will be reserved for the MIG and HIG category.



When will be the draw?
Due to the scheme extension, the computerised lottery draw which was scheduled for July 18, 2023 at Rangsharda Auditorium in Bandra, might extend. The date has not been announced, but it is believed that it will be done in the last week of July or first week of August.  


How to apply?

Participants who have all the necessary documents can apply online. Below is the process:

  • Applicants are required to register on the official MHADA website to apply for MHADA lottery scheme 2023

  • All users have to create a 'Username' to register for the MHADA lottery

  • Then interested applicants are needed to 'Select the lottery and scheme'

  • Lastly, you have to make an online payment via net banking



What are the registration charges? 

In order to apply for the MHADA lottery, the following registration fees are

  • Registration charges for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) are INR 5000 plus an application fee of INR 560  

  • Registration charges for Lower Income Groups (LIG) are INR 10,000 plus an application fee of INR 560  

  • Registration charges for Middle-Income Groups (MIG) are INR 15000 plus an application fee of INR 560  

  • Registration charges for Higher Income Groups (HIG) are INR 20000 plus an application fee of INR 560



What is the eligibility criteria?

Applicants must fulfil all the criteria mentioned below -

  • An applicant must be above the age of 18 years. No application will be accepted in the name of a child

  • A domicile certificate

  • For LIG flats, an applicant can apply if he earns a monthly income of INR 25,001 to INR 50,000 

  • For MIG flats, an applicant can apply if he earns a monthly income of INR 50,001 to INR 75,000 

  • For HIG flats, an applicant can apply if he earns a monthly income of INR 75,001 or above 

  • The applicant must have a valid Pan Card

Which documents are required?

The applicant must have all the below documents -

  • Aadhaar card

  • Pan card

  • Domicile certificate

  • School leaving certificate

  • Driving licence

  • Voter ID card

  • Passport

  • Birth certificate
